The Laws are for little people, not politicians

I’m posting from my class today, so this will be short so my boss and students don’t see that I’m slacking.

Via the AP we have the nugget that punishment for Hillary! is unlikely. So much of this seems to hinge on the idea that nothing was marked classified, even though people I know who had to learn these rules tell me none of that should matter since it’s up to the official to know what should be classified.

But Clinton isn’t an ordinary government drone. She’s special, because she managed to climb over a bunch of bodies (dead bodies?) to reach a level of invincibility from law.

While any little person would be hung out without a job. Clinton will likely go on to occupy 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, which once was a shining beacon of the rule of law.

Of course, beyond classified information, Clinton broke laws designed to increase government transparency (ha!) as well. And she’ll face no punishment for what is a direct attack on the notion of a republic itself. Indeed, people will willingly vote for her to run the republic she brazenly flaunted.

We will not get the president we need in 2016, but the president we deserve.

  1. “… people I know who had to learn these rules tell me none of that should matter since it’s up to the official to know what should be classified.”

You’re expecting judgment from a Democrat Secretary of State?

  2. Well I know what I’d like which is (as Mockingbird says) “equality for all, special treatment for none.”

But the reality is “rules are for little people.”
    (Fixed something)

And when was that? Yes, Bush 43 was a pretty straight-up guy, and so (I guess) was Daddy Bush, but Hillary’s Hubby and the current denizen of the White House were and are no exactly pillars of probity.

Actually, damn near every President since Ike has fudged the law on occasion. Some were pretty blatant rule-benders.

Leaving my distaste for Shrillery aside, she should go to jail, if only to remind the public that this is, indeed, a Nation of Laws and the President should be the First Rule-follower.

We are compassionate, of course. She can share a cell with Bubba. And President Historic First© can be right down the hall.

If we don’t hold these individuals to account, we might as well shove the whole damn nation into the ocean. It will be worthless without the basics that made it great.
