A Basic Flaw In The West’s Counter-Terrorism Efforts: Let Them Go To Syria; Just Don’t Let Them Back In!

I am truly puzzled that at least some of the counter-terrorism efforts in Europe and, presumably here in America is to prevent radicalized Muslims from going to Syria and Iraq and wherever else they want to go.

Isn’t that exactly backwards? By allowing them to leave we immediately identify them as radicals, we can notify the Turks or the Iraqis of their names and provide photos, and then let them deal with the issue. Even if they don’t do anything (and I bet they will do at least something), these people will have left for what they see as greener pastures and younger goats.

Of course a vital part of this plan would be to prevent their return….something that Europe and America is hopelessly unprepared to do, both logistically and by dedication to real-world anti-terrorism, rather than the hashtag version we are currently conducting.

  1. Today, Easter Sunday, in Lahore, Pakistan, the moslems butchered 65 Christians and wounded over 300 more with a bomb attack, designed to murder as many Christians as possible. See Yahoo News.

I guess we can send that news to Hussein — oh wait, he’d be ecstatic.

    Evil, evil men.
