Another little-known fact about the Valero Benicia refinery is that it has a direct pipeline to Travis AFB, an airlift and tanker hub for the West Coast. Team Travis burns a million gallons of jet fuel every 6 DAYS, and that link to the Valero refinery is CRITICAL. Its the SOLE supplier to one of the most important logistics bases in the Pacific. If Valero Benicia shuts down, that means they will either have to truck the JP-8 in or send it on rails until a new pipeline can be built to a different refinery, and that refinery will have to invest BILLIONS to build new jet fuel capacity.
So Calizuela’s risiduclous eco polices one again screw over the rest of the country.
