Ohh, boy, did this one hit home. My younger son, in his late 20s, is a Bernie Bro, and he’s ecstatic that Mamdani won. “Finally, we’ll get real socialism!” He refuses to believe that everything tried before was “real socialism.”
I want him to move to Noo Yawk and experience the wonders of the workers’ paradise. Ten years later, we’ll see what he has to say.
I find myself biting back the only appropriate reply to these knuckleheads: “You can’t possibly be this fucking stupid!”
I am reminded of what Richard Feynman said…”It doesn’t matter how beautiful your theory is, it doesn’t matter how smart you are. If it doesn’t agree with experiment, it’s wrong.”
And there has been a century of experiment on socialism!
