The Morning Rant

Gerrymandering is pretty damned sleazy…a power grab by the ruling party without regard for the reality of shifting voting patterns and the ever-changing cultural and political makeup of neighborhoods and cities.

And we ought to do much more of it. The time is long past for the pro-freedom movement in America to abide by Queensberry’s political rules, because our opponents are gleefully ignoring everything — from the informal rule of political politeness to the law — in their single-minded quest for permanent power over us, and the country.

New York Democrats Sued for ‘Brazen’ Effort To Split Jewish Vote

The suit targets Gov. Kathy Hochul (D.) and other state leaders for approving one of the most aggressively gerrymandered House district maps in the country. The move would raise Democrats’ advantage over Republicans from 11 seats to 18. Political observers say the map, should it survive legal challenges, could single-handedly help Democrats maintain control of the House in the midterm elections.

“These redrawn Brooklyn districts are blatant gerrymanders, with bizarre, roving boundaries crossing multiple bodies of water and snaking between each other for no discernible reason besides partisan advantage,” the Republicans say.

Malliotakis said Hochul and other Democratic leaders are ignoring the will of New Yorkers, who since 2014 have voted twice in favor of anti-gerrymandering referenda.

This is how it is done. Ram through the redistricting in the dead of night, ignoring the law, without public comment or legislative debate, gain an unassailable majority, and then it’s off to the races with graft and insane leftist policies and the destruction of what is left of our civil liberties and natural rights.

Well, two should play at that game. NY is a lost cause, but there are plenty of red states that need to defend vigorously their majorities, and plenty of purple states that can be pushed into the red with some careful and underhanded application of the left’s methods.

But instead of firebrands leading us to freedom and political power, we have people like the execrable Mitch McConnell, whose slimy, backstabbing pontifications about the January 6th protests…calling them a “violent insurrection” and lambasting the Republican National Committee for censuring Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger…is exactly what happens when the overriding political goal of the Republican party is accommodation and room at the trough to enrich themselves and their families.

I am reminded of what Winston Churchill said…

If Hitler invaded Hell I would make at least a favourable reference to the Devil in the House of Commons.

Well, gerrymandering may be the Devil in the minds of too many accomodationist Republicans, but our enemies on the left are behaving more and more like Hitler!
