As news of last night’s mass killing in Orlando filters in, once again the projections, memes and fantasies of leftists, Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) vanish as the facts present themselves.
A gunman killed 50 people and injured 53 in a crowded gay nightclub in the tourist hub of Orlando, Florida, early on Sunday before being shot dead by police, authorities said, in what appeared the deadliest mass shooting in American history.
The shooter was identified as Omar S. Mateen, a man that a senior FBI official said might have had leanings toward Islamic State militants. Officials described the attack as a “terrorism incident” though cautioned that the suspected Islamist connection required further investigation.
That little journalistic gem is courtesy of AOL-Huffington Post. A muslim man walks into a gay bar, mows 100 people down, but let’s not jump to any conclusions. We need to let President Obama, Hilary Clinton and the rest of our betters have enough time to twist the facts and deflect the blame elsewhere as they do time and time again. Should be interesting; usually it’s America’s gun culture and our “propensity to violence” that is always the culprit. Somehow, society is to blame or Islamophobia that made this poor “victim” lash out. This time, the victims of Islamic terror were all homosexuals, so it’ll be interesting to see how they craft their response
Over at Ace of Spades, one commenter made me do a spit take:
The Israeli government cautioned President Obama and America not to overreact.
First and foremost, I offer prayers for the victims and condolences to their families and friends. Normally, it’s the left that uses these occasions to jump on the bodies of the victims as a bully pulpit to blood libel America and attack the Second Amendment. Well, at the risk of being insensitive, I will say that Donald Trump (who I am not a fan of) has the chance to sew up the election here and now – by 100% justifiably tying yesterday’s slaughter squarely around the necks of Hilary, Obama, and every Democrat in the land. They brought this on us. And it’s high time the presumptive nominee called them out on it and rallied the nation to an actual life and death issue.
Well done, JJ.
That AoS comment is excellent. Musta missed it – Thanks for including it.
