The Morning Report 6/4/20

Good morning, kids. Thursday and I’m doing everything I can to muster whatever sense of optimism and hope left in me. But right now, I’m here to tell you that I’m close to running on empty. And yet, when I can stop, catch a breath and really examine things, part of me believes that what we’re seeing may not be the December 1917 Revolution but quite possibly the 1968 Vietcong Tet Offensive. Unfortunately, it’s not 10,000 miles away on the other side of the planet. It’s right here, down the street, not just in the literal sense for me in Manhattan, but for all of you, because what’s being done physically and politically to this city and Marxist-controlled blue state America is the fate that will befall the rest of America not only if Trump loses this fall, but if Democrats are allowed to run this country ever again. 

Circling back to Tet, the media led by the most trusted liar in US history, Walter Cronkite, acting as an agent for the North Vietnamese government, spouted the lie that we could not win the Vietnam War, intentionally hiding the truth that Vietcong were all but wiped out in what was effectively a two-day banzai charge at American forces. I’m not going to get into the what-if’s of alternate history, but the salient point was the damage was done and ultimately, all of Southeast Asia became a giant death camp of communist killing fields. Ironic considering today’s geopolitics of that region, but I digress. 

In the here and now, it is evident that a well-armed, well-organized terrorist force is not reliant on a foreign power and striking at a unified nation. They are comprised of fellow citizens – in name only – and backed by one of America’s two major political parties. Once again, they’re being promoted as noble freedom fighters by the same duplicitous media, but more dangerously, they’re being shielded and given carte blanche to terrorize the populace by agents of law enforcement and national security at every level who are supposed to be protecting us. Rioters and looters may be arrested but with one or two exceptions, they are being released without bail to commit further acts of mayhem thanks to DA’s and A’sG who are in fact part of the insurrection. 

On top of that, even as police officers like St. Louis’ David Dorn are butchered while trying to defend lives and property, or last night where two cops in Brooklyn who weren’t even near a “protest” were ambushed, many of their fellow officers around the country have debased themselves by actually taking a knee in solidarity with… what exactly? George Floyd? No. They kneel and grovel at the feet of the terrorists over the myth that George Floyd is a victim of “systemic white supremacy.” Whatever problems we have with the police and law enforcement, it is now crystal clear that the Left has finally turned this insidious, fictitious blood-libel of America as irredeemably racist and founded on racism into gospel truth. 

Most horrendous of all, while President Trump is both figuratively and quite literally holding back the barbarians at the gates, the foul words of General James Mattis, dripping with venom, jealousy and spite yet lacking in anything even remotely resembling truth, were used like a rusty switchblade from under the soiled pillow of a $2.00 whore and thrust into his back. I have never served in the military, although I have had relatives who fought and died for this country, and at the risk of overstepping my bounds, from my perspective, Mattis is a disgrace to the uniform. With the nation on the verge of heading over a cliff, he’s there to give it a hearty shove. I do not care about his military record; to see him wearing the same uniform as men who faced hell on earth at Pelelieu and Iwo Jima is beyond hateful. He is despicable and dare I say it, given the situation, a traitor. 

The President, like all of us desperately clinging to and trying to preserve the last vestiges of sanity and our nation, stands alone. The people and institutions that he thought he could trust to stand with him in times of peril are now clearly part and parcel of the peril he is facing. 

Turning what was a moronic phrase a few short weeks ago into something that now has real meaning, he and we are alone in this together. G-d I feel low.
