The Morning Report 6/23/20

Good morning, kids. Tuesday, and while I can’t say I’m necessarily surprised by some of the headlines, they are nevertheless shocking, disgusting and alarming simultaneously. First up, Shaun King, known around here by one of the greatest nicknames in history – “Talcum X” – has revealed where all of this supposedly righteous anger over the wrongful death of a career criminal and drug abuser at the hands of incompetent police in a Democrat-controlled police department, city and state is leading. And it has nothing to do with any of the aforementioned: The complete overthrowing of not just the United States of America as well as every advance towards individual freedom since Magna Carta, but of Judeo-Christianity itself. 

This poor man’s C. Thomas Howell (and this has got to be on the cultural hit-list of the Left), whose only smidgen of dark skin resides in the deepest recesses of the pock marks on his lunar relief map of a complexion, has now stated that the next graven images offensive to the oppressed people of color (or to be more precise Patrisse Cullors) is none other than Jesus Christ. Therefore all statues, stained glass and other works of art bearing the likeness of Christ are to be removed. I invite him to go to St. Peter’s Basilica and try to take a hammer and chisel to the Pieta, or fly down to Rio and have a go at Christ the Redeemer up on Corcovado Mountain. 

One has to assume that the mere removal of the image of Christ will not be sufficient to sate the appetites of the aggrieved masses that Mr. King supposedly speaks for. By the way, what the Left is doing in demanding the removal of “graven images” is oddly coincidental to what Muslims demand when they seize control of governments and nations (see the link below). And by oddly coincidental, I mean the Left and Islam are tied at the hip. Yes a picture is worth a thousand words as the fortune cookie states, but even minus the picture, the words still remain. You don’t need Common Core to do the math.

Victor Davis Hanson puts it bluntly on what is at stake with this election:

… It’s an existential question, a… choice between whether you want civilization and you believe that America doesn’t have to be perfect to be good… and we’re not going to destroy all that people died for…”

The one thing the good doctor misses, or perhaps does not even want to acknowledge is that we are at a stage where this is not even about elections. It has gone way beyond that. We are in a state of civil war. Yes, some elements of our society are still operating, at least on the surface level, as they have in the past. But we now have roving gangs of disorganized thugs and criminals, along with semi-organized cadres of domestic terrorists committing acts of violence and vandalism that, taken all together, have one common aim: destroy America. 

While most if not all of this insanity is confined to Democrat-Leftist controlled cities and in some instances states, the power that those cities and states wield (thanks in no small measure to the disaster that was the 17th Amendment, and of course unchecked illegal immigration among other things), combined with the influence of a media that is an in-your-face propaganda arm of this insurrection and too many citizens brainwashed for the past 50 years by our educational system in all walks of life translates into an existential threat against all of us. The wolf is at our throat; thanks to a mostly feckless GOP-e (with some notable exceptions such as Tom Cotton, Matt Gaetz, Ted Cruz and a few others), President Trump is almost singlehandedly keeping it from going for the jugular. Thanks to toadies like Mitch McConnell and previous to that Nikki Haley insofar as Confederate flags, monuments and paintings (which by the way were all Democrats), we have ceded the high ground on who gets to judge what is right or wrong, American and un-American, and good or evil.

It cannot be stated often enough or strongly enough; the Left does not want to level the playing field, they want to clear it. They do not want to debate us because to do so means they have to recognize the validity of our viewpoints or more precisely, that we are valid opponents worthy enough to have debatable viewpoints in the first place. To them, we don’t. We are evil. At some point, the obsequious and disgusting displays of bowing down to black people, Leftists or whatever grievance group is the flavor of the day, to beg forgiveness for “whiteness” will not be enough. Because “whiteness” is inherently evil, or in one’s DNA at birth, there is only one way to eliminate it. And I think we all know what that means.

With police marginalized, standing down, not wanting to or fearing doing their job, or G-d forbid going over to the enemy, some deviant or deviants, intoxicated with the constant drumbeat of “America is evil,” anyone not down with that program who crosses their path or does not take a knee might pay with his or her life. Whether Trump wins come November or not, we are in uncharted waters. Pray. And keep your powder dry.
