At least Carlson doesn’t wear a bow tie with his klan robes, so I guess we have his evolving fashion sense to thank for that.
The New York Times Series Attacking Tucker Carlson Buried a Pretty Important Disclaimer
On Saturday morning, The New York Times engaged in quite the hackery against Fox News’ Tucker Carlson with “American Nationalist.” It’s not just a hit piece, but an entire series, written by Nicholas Confessore, who is also a commentator for MSNBC. That Confessore is so involved with a direct competitor of Fox News is not mentioned until more than halfway through the first part of the series, which by itself is over 8,000 words. A source close to the matter confirmed for Townhall that Confessore had been working on the piece for a year.
The important disclaimer is that the writer of the article works for one of Fox and Carlson’s competitors. But burying that sort of thing is exactly what the NYT excels at! Well…that and personalizing its attacks on its targets, something they learned from Saul Alinsky and others.
Ignoring the petty details that mean very little, the crux of the article is that Tucker Carlson is a racist because he criticizes blacks and hispanics. That is the real crime in the eyes of the leftist editors of the NYT. Never mind that Carlson is an equal opportunity critic. Never mind that his most cutting knocks are often directed at others…any criticism of any minority (except Jews, conservatives, and successful Asians) is beyond the pale and prima facie evidence of irredeemable bigotry and racism, and grounds for destruction at the hands of the leftist-media complex.
This is the double standard that has been internalized by the media for three generations. It is the perfect example of the “soft bigotry of low expectations,” and is part and parcel of the left’s own contempt for minorities.
It doesn’t matter that Carlson’s mockery of Maxine Waters is based entirely on her incredible stupidity and rampant, vile, disgusting racism and hatred. Or that his poking fun at Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (Alexandria Donkey-Chompers) has solid backing in her chaotically incongruent behavior and laughably stupid pronouncements about pretty much everything.
The really silly part of this criticism is that Carlson goes after plenty of white men. It’s just that those targets are perfectly okay with the NYT editors.
Luckily for us, Tucker Carlson understands the leftist mindset and the tactics they employ to destroy their political opponents, and he simply doesn’t play the game. He never explains, he never apologizes, and he never regrets. Without those emotional and irrational responses, the left is left with impotent sputtering about racism and misogyny, which is ultimately easy to cast off as inconsequential.
