Great discussion. I grew up under the old mayor Daley, the one who observed the social contract. Out in the burbs, we knew the crime stopped at Austin Blvd. And thanks to M. Walsh, too. I read his book after getting my MA in critical theory in film and wondering why we just spent two years reading about how Marx and Freud hated our movies. I realized later that of course they hated everything about us!
