Another wonderful session. Thanks to all three of you; I could listen to this conversation for hours.
And we could talk for hours with Walsh!
Having spent most of my working life in a newsroom, although not as a reporter, I ordered ATCM but also have yet to read it. (I will, promise!) It saddens me to see what has become of the newspaper business, which I once loved.
I remember in college when one of my J-school professors criticized the city’s police for videorecording a protest march. I thought keeping tabs on leftists was a good idea. I didn’t realize then that those tools could be turned against us. More fool me.
Also, I supported the Patriot Act, thinking it would be used against only the bad guys. I should have gotten a clue when the first thing GWB did after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks was to order a reorganization of the bureaucracy. As if new letterhead would do anything useful.
But I maintain that the removal of Saddam Hussein was a step toward peace. The bungling came after the fighting. We should have appointed a viceroy to run Iraq, and after maybe 20 years, the place would have become civilized enough to be allowed to enter the world.
Aside from being entertaining, the intellectual heft of putting you three together is on another level. I always feel smarter after listening to y’all host Michael Walsh.
Aside from the sheer intellectual heft Michael brings to the conversation, we have a hoot before and after the session just BS’ing, joking and kibbitzing with each other. Should leave in some of the outtakes maybe?

Walsh is outstanding as always
Speaking of actions by the federal government, there is no “WE.” Patriots really need to stop saying this; it’s a hangover from better times.
E.g., “we” didn’t decide that our 40 men who were almost trapped/overrun on Oct.7 would not EVEN be allowed to get their weapons out of the lockers (which they shouldn’t have been in in the first place) — the assholes in the Pentagon decided that. In fact, thank God the IDF soldiers shared their guns with the Americans.
As far as the feminization of the military is concerned, remember that That was put into place by the men who were then running the military. So-called men who were all in on taking down our country from within, so one way of doing it was obviously to put a bunch of unqualified women into positions of responsibility.
Women have no role in combat except behind the lines in various support functions because war is a man’s business.
So you have to ask yourself, why did the men who were in charge when all this started happening decide that this is a Good Thing to do? Obviously because they were all in on the great Castration of America.
Also, a lot of the brass hats in the military got to their exalted ranks through generous helpings of “grease, ” as a submariner boyfriend of mine used to say, with contempt.
Remember also that the Destroyer, Obama, led the purge of ideological opponents from the military officer corps, taking a leaf from Stalin’s purge of the Red Army, no doubt.
IOW, all of these “government mistakes” are enemy action. Charlie really is inside the wire.
