The Morning Report 9/25/19

Good morning kids. Wednesday and despite the fact that I did not think, or at least prayed, that things could not get any worse for the life of this nation, it seems as if I was whistling past the mass graveyard. The Democrats have crossed one big-ass Rubicon yesterday when Nancy “Palsi” Pelosi gave in and now openly supports impeachment. On a granular level, it’s a complete farce since Palsi did not go as far as to call for the impaneling of a special prosecutor et al, but merely for the opening of an inquiry. Pardon my French but what the fuck have they been doing for months now and really years if you include the Mueller Deception as part and parcel of an impeachment process/preamble? Suffice it to say, that barring something completely out of the blue, after post-natal infanticide, disarming of the citizenry and open borders with welfare and healthcare for foreigners, impeachment will not only insure Trump is reelected a scant 13 months from now, but by a huge margin.

The only klown in the Demokrat 2020 Klown Kar that has not gone off the deep end at least as far as this is concerned is Tulsi “Coffeecake” Gabbard. Make no mistake, her views and policy stances are only marginally less socialist/communist as the others but she knows full well the consequences to whatever might be left of comity. Political ploy to separate herself from the rest of the pack? Perhaps, but she’s gambling on the Democrat base not being as totally off the rails as the rest of the Democrat-Media Complex thinks that it is. And they may be right, in which case all bets are off. That said, you might recall that “Not-Let’s-Stay-Together” Al Green’s vote to impeach a few months back was soundly rejected in the House. Has anything changed since then to convince the then-reticent House Dems to jump on this crazy train? I don’t think so.

But leaving that aside, let’s face it. The Democrat Party is bereft of anything that resembles sane, rational, workable policy because all they ever offer are solutions in search of a problem or, worse, cause the problems in the first place. And that stands in sharp contrast to what Donald Trump has achieved, almost singlehandedly despite everything hurled at him day in and day out for over four years now.

So the Democrats have nothing left except what is now a naked will to power that I think has already split the nation in two. This insanity may insure that whatever slim hope there might have been to repair it is gone forever. Daniel Greenfield over at the invaluable Frontpage Mag delivers yet again with a must-read essay that should be bookmarked:

…Impeachment is not just meant to be a trial of President Trump, but of the voters who chose him. Its outcome, whatever the composition of the Senate, is meant to be an argument for remaking the system of elections, whether by abolishing the Electoral College or tampering with the judiciary, that would take the power further out of the hands of the voters and concentrate them with the right sorts of people. The right sorts of people usually being wealthy and influential lefties in California and New York…

… Impeaching Trump isn’t about him. It’s a Rorschach test that reveals the ugly inkblot of the leftist soul. Its real purpose is for an ugly totalitarian movement to live out its fantasy of casting aside the vestiges of democracy, divesting itself of the illusions of representative government and holding a show trial.

Leftists speak less about equality these days than about justice. This is the justice they have in mind.

Their vision of utopia isn’t equality or progress, it’s trial after trial, an endless series of proceedings against Trump and you and me, and Bob next door, who votes Democrat, but once used the term “illegal alien” in a conversation. The nightmares of the French Revolution, the Soviet Union, Communist China and Pol Pot’s Cambodia weren’t accidental misfires: they’re the essential truth of what the Left is…

So, where do we go from here? As I stated earlier, even if they actually vote to impeach this will die in the Senate and the President will surely go on to win in 2020, and quite possibly flip the House back to GOP control to boot. But I want to know what happens in 2024 and beyond? Whatever one might have perceived the Democrat Party to be is gone. They are no longer, if they ever were, just “the loyal opposition” with different views on how to advance America and the American experiment. No, they are the opposition TO the American experiment and seek to do for it what Ulrich Klopfer and Kermit Gosnell have done for pediatrics, albeit without making it comfortable before snipping the spinal chord with a rusty scissors.

Interesting times, indeed.
