The Morning Rant

We are in the beginning of what I expect to be a pretty significant period of recession and inflation that may last longer than most think. Why? Because we are still pumping lots of money into the system via the abject stupidity and cravenness of our administration, ably supported by the equally stupid national legislature. You know…the ones who are supposed to control the purse strings of our government!

So the interest rate…the cost of money…has to rise to somewhere near the rate of inflation for us to have a shot at controlling it. And until that happens, business cannot plan and price and invest with any degree of confidence that the cost of X and Y and Z will not be completely skewed in just a short time. Uncertainty is the enemy of growth, and we have that in abundance!

So what’s the point? Unemployment! That’s the point. And unemployment is going to punish those who have the least experience, the smallest skill sets, the skimpiest resumes.

And who is that?

I present to you the people who may very well have blunted the red wave that could have eased some of the very problems that will bite them in the ass when this economy’s employment starts to stall.

There WOULD Have Been a Red Wave, but One Group Saved the Left From Being Completely Obliterated

John Della Volpe, a hard-Left pollster and author of a deathless tome entitled FIGHT: How Gen Z is Channeling Their Fear & Passion to Save America, is claiming that his favorite age group saved the midterm elections for those who love skyrocketing inflation, open borders, rising crime, international ridicule and brinksmanship, and accelerating authoritarianism. Della Volpe tweeted, “One thing I know already. If not for voters under 30 … tonight WOULD have been a Red Wave. CNN National House Exit Poll R+ 13 65+ R+ 11 45-64 D +2 30-44 D +28 18-29 #GenZ did their job.” He added, “& young #millennials :)” If Della Volpe’s numbers are correct, and 64% of voters between the ages of 18 and 29 really voted for Democrats, then one thing is clear: the corruption and politicization of our educational system has worked.

Yes, it is a CNN poll. Which means it is probably bullshit. But D + 28 for those 18-29 is a monstrous number, and even correcting it for the typical CNN bias it is probably still in the “huge” category.

I have met a fair number of people in that cohort, and to call them misguided and ignorant and unaware would be a tremendous understatement. So the vindictive part of me — the cold-hearted bastard who lives inside this cheery exterior — says, “Good! Let them suffer the consequences of their stupidity.”

Enjoy mom’s damp and dark basement. Enjoy sleeping on a crappy pull-out couch for the next few years. Enjoy socializing via your phone because you can’t afford gas and insurance for your broken-down car. Enjoy working a crappy food-service job with awful hours and no health insurance. Enjoy Mary Palm and her five sisters as your only sex life!

Because if it really was you knuckle-dragging, booger-eating idiots who blunted our hope for a Republican majority in both houses and a slew of voter-law-cleaning governors, then you deserve all the misery that is coming…and more!
