  1. Fascinating. It probably goes without saying that Arab interest in international law extends only so far as it can be useful as a weapon or deception.

  2. The enemy is not vanquished until he considers himself so.

    This truth of war has been ignored at least since WWII if not since the American Civil war.

  3. And that is the crux of the problem. Israel has allowed public opinion (both its own and the world’s) to control its war against Hamas and Hezbollah. They are victorious until they are beaten so badly that they are terrified of Israel. Hopefully the current campaign will teach them that lesson.
